Safe and effective pallet truck operation involves training and certification.
Understanding pallet truck training in the UK is vital for workplace safety and job success, whether you’re an employer or an individual.
Pallet and stacker trucks are essential in UK warehouses, distribution centres, and retail. These vehicles may look easy to drive, but they cause many industrial injuries each year. An certified pallet truck school teaches operators load capacity restrictions, manoeuvring methods, and danger awareness, making workplaces safer.
We provide employer-trusted certification through comprehensive training programs that fulfil HSE rules and industry best practices at Accredited Forklift Truck Training.

The UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requires pallet truck operators to be trained before using equipment. Competent educators must teach both theoretical and practical abilities.
We train for different equipment kinds because each demands particular operational skills. We offer customised manual and electric pallet truck training for hand-operated and battery-powered vehicles.
Other than pallet trucks, several workplaces use stacker trucks for higher-level storage. Our UK stacker truck training covers manual and powered stackers to ensure vertical lifting safety. An approved stacker truck training covers load stability at height, stacking safety, and lifting mechanisms.
Truck stacker certification UK is attracting firms who value well-trained operators. Our courses give you the certifications to prove your expertise and follow working rules.

Batteries and electric equipment dominate powered pallet truck training. This specialised training includes battery safety, charging, speed control, electronic braking, and emergency stop functions. Electric variants provide more power and speed, but operators learn to use it safely.
For retail and warehouse walk-behind equipment, pedestrian pallet truck training is intended. This training covers pedestrian safety, ergonomics, and worker awareness in busy areas. Operators learn to traverse confined spaces with visibility and control.
Manual pallet truck training teaches lifting, ergonomics, and safety for hand-operated pump trucks. Manual trucks don’t need battery expertise, but operators must grasp mechanical concepts, weight distribution, and safe manual handling to avoid strain injuries.
Quality approved stacker truck courses and pallet truck programs involve numerous essentials. Training covers pre-use checks, dangers, load stability, and weight capacity constraints. Walking safety, stacking, and emergency measures are also taught.
Certified operators must practise manoeuvring in realistic warehouse conditions throughout practical training. This practical training ensures users can safely operate the equipment at work.
Accredited training benefits employers and employees. Businesses benefit from qualified operators’ decreased accident rates, insurance premiums, and regulatory compliance. Proper training shows companies care about employee wellbeing and professional development.
Certification in an official pallet truck school provides possibilities to logistics, retail, manufacturing, and distribution jobs. Employers prefer certified operators and pay them more.
Most pallet truck training UK courses may be finished in a day, making them ideal for busy organisations. Whether you’re training for manual, motorised, or stacker equipment, courses last three to six hours. Electric pallet truck training may take longer to cover battery safety and electrical systems.
Refresher training, recommended every three to five years, updates knowledge and abilities rather than teaching from start, saving time.

Pallet Truck and Stacker Trucks have the capability to stack at various levels and these have been categorised as low, eye, and high. There is a training course for each category, however if you do a high level course this will entitle you to operate at all 3 stacking levels.
The courses give you the skills to operate the truck safely and efficiently, to carry out a pre-use inspection and will give you the ability to recall and explain the causes of truck and load instability.
The course is largely practical in nature and there will be no more than 3 people on the course to ensure you have enough time operating the truck.
The course covers: controls and instruments, starting, moving, stopping and steering the truck, operation of hydraulic controls, battery care and maintenance, pre use inspection, weight assessment, handling laden and unladen pallets, driving on/off ramps and inclines, vehicle loading and unloading from a loading dock environment, stacking and de-stacking and where applicable to truck type, bulk and industrial pallet racking location systems.

This course is ideal for anyone looking to achieve a high standard of lift truck operation training and earn a Certificate of Competence. Whether you’re new to lift truck operation or seeking formal recognition of your skills, this training will help you operate confidently and safely.
We will explain all of the current legislation and operators’ safety code so that your employees are up to speed on the relevant training significant to the course they will be on.
A theory assessment is significant to your employees’ passing the course, as it will test their knowledge of relevant information.
We will train your employees to carry out daily inspections on their forklift trucks, as this is essential to their training. They will be trained with all of the skills and knowledge they need to check their forklifts every day to ensure they are safe to use before operating them.
To ensure that they comply with Health and Safety regulations, we will also teach your employees load-handling theory.
After your employees have gone through the course, they will lastly need to perform a practical assessment.
In this assessment, they will be required to perform various manoeuvres safely in order to pass.
The test will determine if your employees are competent in driving forklifts after training has been provided, and once they have successfully completed the assessment, we will provide them with certification to prove the qualifications they have earned.
CERTIFICATION
On successful completion of the practical and theory assessment, all candidates shall receive a forklift truck certificate and id card if requested, both will be valid for up to 3 years.
